Star delta drive motor installed, on close inspection of this motor before the supply was turned on, the impedance readings was carried out which show the impedance was unbalanced on 3 winding's, fault was located and repairs carried out, as anyone with experience with star delta motors, as we have will know how critical it is that motor winding's are balanced and no unbalanced winding's are in the circuit, as this will cause the motor to overheat and eventually burn out, the fault was rectified with our expert knowledge on motors and all was running satisfactory on completion.

New installed drive unit for variable speed 3 phase motor, this was a breakdown service, which held up production on the factory, the old Toshiba drive unit was taken out, all terminations noted down for re-installation of new drive unit, an identical drive unit was sought after, which meant phone calls to locate the drive unit in the UK, the new drive unit was installed, but the potentiometer was not functioning correctly and a new one supplied had to be installed, this was done so in a professional manner, but difficulties was still found with internal links with the new drive, so therefore then phone calls were made and contact made with Toshiba in Germany and alterations to links in the drive was taken out with use of 1 to 1 communication with an engineer in Germany all carried out as fast as possible and in a professional manner.

60 amp double pole switch, 1 phase of the switch has failed, so loss of capacity supply for office complex, new isolator required and please note the switch is on the live side of the supply, suggested to install new 60 amp pole switch, 60 amp capacity to give the office block new 60 amp phase for office capacity, for mainly for heating purposes.

Installed new 6 way modular box which is to hold 6 MCB’s, to resume 2 phases back up to feed the office complex, power resumed. Carried out during working hours.

200 amp fuse switch, red & yellow phases on incoming supply, via capacitors have drawn excessive current and cause the red & yellow phases to become overheated which needed new main tails as required, capacitors for power factor correction not working correctly needing further work.

Red phase have new tails and lugs fitted to replace burnt cables.

Continued switch gear

Snapshot of switch gear including capacitor, which we carry out a shutdown on at Christmas time, out of hours and working through the night as required on annual maintenance and safety checks.

1 sub circuit of 800 amps per phase, feeding one control panel, feeding many sub circuits, work was annual maintenance for safety reasons, all work carried out to NIC / EIC regulations and to the 17th / 18th regulations.

Please note we carry out inspections to NIC / EIC regulations for insurance purposes to comply with regulations and insurance requirements, in this case the old bill fuse board needed upgrading and old dis-used circuits taken out and made safe and upgrading as needed.

Temporary board installed to maintain machinery running whilst this job was being done i.e. upgrading the board.

Old bill board disconnected and circuits marked up of circuits requiring reinstallation.

Installed new 3 phase Hager board ready for internal circuits.

Newly installed Hager board with required circuits as needed, excluding old circuits not required. Please note every existing neutral cable needed testing out to match with live conductor and all carried to 18th edition.

Radial arm drill for well established engineering company has trouble with star delta drive motor to drive drill bit and up traverse and down traverse motor.

Control equipment. Drive motor for drill won’t start, due to star connection on contactor not closing, new Schneider contactor fitted on star connection only.

As previous, please note new white Schneider contactor fitted.

Continuation on radial arm drill, still won’t start properly so number 2 contactor fitted on run side of circuit for the star delta motor, the installation of din rail was required to mount contactors on to.

Same, radial arm drill, up traverse and down traverse not working properly so therefore new contactor fitted because of intermitting contact points on contactor on right hand side of panel.
